Rita & Jared, A Quiet Frangeli House Wedding

A slow morning, a sunlit promise, and a love that felt like coming home.

Held at the beloved Frangeli House in Baguio City, Rita and Jared’s wedding unfolded with an ease that mirrored who they are, unhurried, heartfelt, and quietly unforgettable. Captured by The Local Folke Studio, their day was a portrait of what happens when love leads and everything else follows.

The morning began slowly.

No rush, no checklists taped to mirrors, no stylists moving briskly across the room. Just a quiet rhythm of women getting ready together, friends and sisters in soft pajamas, brushing each other’s hair, sharing laughter that lingered longer than the scent of coffee in the air. They did their own makeup, no timelines, no staged gift-giving. It felt uncurated, yet deeply personal, like a morning that belonged entirely to them.

By ten o’clock, the garden of Frangeli House glowed under the kind of light that only Baguio gives, soft, golden, and full of breath. The ceremony began, intimate and deeply personal, officiated by Jared’s father. There was no long list of principal sponsors, no elaborate entourage to fill the aisle. Only the people who mattered most, gathered close enough to hear the wind move through the pines and the quiet tremble of their vows.

Rita, of Hmong–Lao descent, had flown in from the United States, carrying her heart across an ocean. Jared, Filipino, had traveled from Thailand with his family, where they now live. They met again here, in the highlands, halfway between past and future, where the air is cool, and time seems to hold its breath.

Baguio has long been a refuge for love stories like theirs, a city where weddings unfold not in noise, but in stillness. Where moments stretch and slow. Where every vow feels rooted, in family, in place, in the kind of love that doesn’t rush to be seen.

After the ceremony, the celebration flowed into a lunch reception beneath the same canopy of light. Long wooden tables lined the garden, dressed in gentle neutrals and florals that felt freshly gathered. There was no rigid sequence of events, no marathon of games or formalities, just honest words, laughter, and stories shared between bites. Heartfelt speeches came from the people who shaped their lives, voices trembling with joy and sincerity.

When the music began, it wasn’t rehearsed or grand, just the kind that makes you smile before you realize you’re already moving. They danced with the people they love, laughter echoing softly against the old walls of Frangeli House. The afternoon sun spilled into every corner, turning each moment golden.

The Local Folke Studio captured it all with quiet precision. They lingered not on perfection, but on truth, a passing glance between parents, the brush of a hand, the way light touched Rita’s dress as she turned. It was storytelling through stillness, proof that beauty lives best in the unhurried.

As the day slipped into early evening, the celebration faded gently. Guests lingered, unwilling to let the calm go. Plates stayed half-full, conversations turned to whispers. There were no fireworks, no orchestrated send-offs, only the soft hum of belonging, the echo of a love that had found its place.

In a world where weddings often chase grandeur, Rita and Jared’s day was a quiet rebellion. Proof that when love is sincere, simplicity becomes its own form of elegance. Their wedding wasn’t about more, it was about meaning.

“It wasn’t the grandeur that stayed with us. It was the stillness, the laughter, the gentle pace, the quiet kind of love that glowed under the Baguio sun and felt like coming home.”
